Create a New Pipeline

The following is a step-by-step guide to creating new pipelines in HubSpot.

(Starter, Professional, and Enterprise only)

Create a New Pipeline
  1. Click the Settings ⚙️ icon (top navigation).
  2. Navigate to Objects and select the object (Deals, Tickets, Orders, etc.).
  3. Click the Pipelines tab.
  4. Click Select a pipeline > Create pipeline.
  5. Enter a Pipeline Name and click Create.
Tip: Use separate pipelines only if your processes require unique stages. Otherwise, manage user access to a shared pipeline.

Manage and Edit Pipelines
  1. Go to Settings > Objects > Pipelines.
  2. Select the pipeline you want to edit.
  3. Click Actions (top right) and choose:
    • Rename this pipeline
    • Reorder pipelines
    • Manage access (set permissions for teams and users)
    • Delete this pipeline (must be empty before deleting)
Note: HubSpot automatically creates a deal pipeline for ecommerce integrations, which cannot be modified.

Customize Pipeline Stages
Each object has default stages, such as:
  • Deals: Appointment Scheduled, Qualified to Buy, Closed Won, etc.
  • Tickets: New, Waiting on Contact, Closed.
  • Orders: In Progress, Contract Signed.

Add, Edit, or Delete Stages
  1. In Settings > Objects > Pipelines, select your pipeline.
  2. Click + Add stage to create a new stage.
  3. Rename or reorder existing stages by clicking on them.
  4. For Deals: Set a Deal Probability (e.g., 80% chance of closing).
  5. To delete a stage: Move all records to another stage first.
