Create Marketing Emails Using the Drag-and-Drop Editor
Learn how to create marketing emails using HubSpot's drag-and-drop templates.
Create a New Email
- Go to Marketing > Marketing Email in your HubSpot account.
- Click Create email and select the email type:
- Regular: One-time emails for updates and promotions.
- Automated: Emails triggered by workflows.
- Blog/RSS: Emails sent when a new blog post is published.
- Choose a drag-and-drop template and click Choose template.
Customize Email Content & Layout
Add & Edit Content
- Drag elements (text, images, buttons) from the Content tab into your email.
- Click an element to edit text, fonts, colors, and spacing.
- Click the clone icon to duplicate sections or the trash icon to delete them.
- Rearrange sections by dragging the blue edge on the left.
Save Sections for Reuse (Professional & Enterprise only)
- Hover over a section and click the icon to save it.
- Find saved sections under Saved sections in the Content tab.
Edit the Email Footer
- Click the footer to edit office location, text style, and unsubscribe settings.
Add Personalization
- Click Personalize in the formatting bar.
- Select a contact, company, deal, or ticket property to insert.
- Set a default value for contacts missing that information.
Edit Email Settings
Click the Settings tab to configure:
- From name & address: Choose a sender or use a personalization token.
- Subject line: Add a subject and preview text.
- Subscription type: Select the email’s subscription type.
- Campaign: Associate the email with a campaign (if applicable).
Preview & Test Your Email
- Click Preview > Inbox preview to see how your email looks on desktop and mobile.
- Send a test email to yourself or a team member.
Send or Schedule Your Email
- Select recipients by choosing lists or individual contacts.
- Exclude unengaged contacts to improve deliverability.
- Choose when to send:
- Send now to send immediately.
- Schedule for later to send at a specific time.
Optional: A/B Testing (Professional & Enterprise only)
- Click Run a test to create two versions of your email.
- Set the winning metric (open rate, click rate, etc.).
Analyze & Optimize
After sending, track email performance using HubSpot’s email analytics. Check open rates, click rates, and more to refine future campaigns.
