Set Up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for HubSpot

The following are instructions for enabling and configuring two-factor authentication as added security for your HubSpot account.

Enable 2FA for Your Login

  1. Click the Settings ⚙️ icon (top navigation).
  2. Go to General > Security.
  3. In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Set up two-factor authentication (2FA).
  4. Choose your authentication method:
    • HubSpot Mobile App
    • Authenticator App (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, etc.)
    • SMS Text Message
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Save Backup Codes

  • Download or print your 10 backup codes in case you lose access to your device.

Set Up a Secondary 2FA Method (Recommended)

  1. In Security settings, under Two-Factor Authentication, click Add a trusted phone number or Third-party security app.
  2. Follow the instructions to complete setup.

Turn Off 2FA (Only for Free Accounts)

  1. Go to General > Security.
  2. Under Two-Factor Authentication, click Remove [Primary method].
  3. Enter a 2FA code or use a backup code to confirm.

Require 2FA for All Users (Super Admins Only)

  1. Go to Settings > Security > Settings & Activity.
  2. Check Require Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
  3. Confirm by clicking Yes (takes effect in 24 hours).
