Create Companies in HubSpot

Learn how to create companies in HubSpot and create associations with existing contacts, deals, or tickets.

Manually Create a Company

  1. Go to Companies
    • In HubSpot, navigate to CRM > Companies.
    • Click Create company (top right).
  2. Enter Company Details
    • Fill in the Company Name and/or Company Domain Name (more fields will appear).
    • (Optional) Customize which properties appear by clicking Edit this form.
  3. Associate with Other Records
    • In Associate company with, link related contacts, deals, or tickets.
  4. Save the Company
    • Click Create to save, or Create and add another to enter multiple companies.
 

Automatically Create & Associate Companies

HubSpot can automatically create companies and associate them with contacts based on their email domain (e.g., sandra@example.comexample.com).
Enable Automatic Company Creation
  1. Click the Settings ⚙️ icon (top navigation).
  2. Go to Objects > Companies.
  3. In the Automation section, check Create and associate companies with contacts.
  4. In the dialog box, select:
    • Yes: Apply to both existing and new contacts.
    • No: Apply only to new contacts moving forward.
  5. Click Save.
Exclude Domains from Automatic Association (Optional)
  • To prevent certain domains (e.g., gmail.com) from creating companies:
    1. Go to Settings > Objects > Companies.
    2. Click Exclude a domain from automatic association.
    3. Enter the domain(s) and click Save.
