Create Companies in HubSpot
Learn how to create companies in HubSpot and create associations with existing contacts, deals, or tickets.
Manually Create a Company
- Go to Companies
- In HubSpot, navigate to CRM > Companies.
- Click Create company (top right).
- Enter Company Details
- Fill in the Company Name and/or Company Domain Name (more fields will appear).
- (Optional) Customize which properties appear by clicking Edit this form.
- Associate with Other Records
- In Associate company with, link related contacts, deals, or tickets.
- Save the Company
- Click Create to save, or Create and add another to enter multiple companies.
Automatically Create & Associate Companies
HubSpot can automatically create companies and associate them with contacts based on their email domain (e.g.,
sandra@example.com
→ example.com
).Enable Automatic Company Creation
- Click the Settings ⚙️ icon (top navigation).
- Go to Objects > Companies.
- In the Automation section, check Create and associate companies with contacts.
- In the dialog box, select:
- Yes: Apply to both existing and new contacts.
- No: Apply only to new contacts moving forward.
- Click Save.
Exclude Domains from Automatic Association (Optional)
- To prevent certain domains (e.g.,
gmail.com
) from creating companies:- Go to Settings > Objects > Companies.
- Click Exclude a domain from automatic association.
- Enter the domain(s) and click Save.
